Prayer Blockers

All of us at one time or another have struggled when we don't receive something from the Lord.  When you begin to grow in the knowledge of prayer, you discover it is not just getting on your knees and start talking to God.  We learn to prepare ourselves to approach God in prayer.  We  check if our spiritual lives are in line for our prayers to be heard.  It is possible for us to block our prayers to God.  Let's look at some of the reasons our prayers might not be answered.

Relationships

“Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.”   1 Peter 3:7 NIV

“And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”   Mark 11:25 NIV

There is a connection between our relationships and the effectiveness of our prayer lives.  The bottom line here is that when we are praying for forgiveness we can’t expect that prayer to be answered unless we have forgiven others.

Pride

“He mocks proud mockers but shows favor to the humble and oppressed.”  Proverbs 3:34 NIV

Do you go to God with a list of all that you are doing for Him, expecting Him to do things your way in return?  Go to Him with an attitude of repentance and the clear understanding that He is God.

Selfish Prayers

“You ask, and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.”  James 4:3 NKJV

Are your prayers only for YOU?  Are you taking time to intercede for loved ones, friends, and even your enemies?  Are you asking God for things just to fulfill your own lustful desires?  God has called us not only to pray for ourselves, but to intercede on behalf of others, even those who do not like us.  During our prayer, we should set aside time specifically aimed at praying for the needs of others, even before we pray for our own.

Continually pray for us.  We are waiting on God for a major decision and we need all the prayer we can get.  Pray for the health of our staff also.  They are holding the Fort down and we need them to be in good health to help us bring this vision to pass.  We deeply appreciate you.

The State of the Union

I really need you to pray for us and that people will support this ministry.  We are still about $50,000 short from making our annual budget.  Please pray for people to join Eagles Saving Nations (ESN).  The goal is to get believers into stadiums and civic centers etc., in America and every country to have the glory of God come down upon them as at Pentecost, so they can go forth without fear or intimidation.  Also, to speak the truth which will take away the deception of the lies being flooded on America and the nations.  Evil agents of Satan are trying to intimidate people to allow immorality to sweep the nations, take away our freedoms, and persecute the righteous.  In America, we are experiencing a Communist agenda to topple the Republic and move us into the New World Order of censorship and control.  We must have another Great Awakening.

Also, pray that all people who subscribed to ESN as Golden Eagles last year will renew their subscriptions again this year.  We need each person to renew their subscription every year.  We cannot afford to lose anyone in this battle to spark another Great Awakening.  The cost is tremendous to get into stadiums and hire full time personnel to coordinate such an effort.  If people have made a monthly commitment, pray they are faithful.  Again, please pray that many more new people will join ESN!

Please continue to be faithful if you are a giver and if possible give an extra donation this time.  If you have never given, we need your help desperately to make our monthly budget.  We need to expand our sounding the alarm Warning programs instead of cancelling some of them.  We need to be sounding the alarm louder than ever before.

These burdens weigh heavily on my heart, so please pray them through until we see the victory.

Lovingly,

Jonathan Hansen
