BINDING AND LOOSING is a promise of God given to the church based upon the understanding of when a believer has the jurisdiction to exercise this judicial action given to them by our Lord Jesus Christ. A Christian must know his limitations which God has placed upon His ambassadors in representing Him.

There is so much confusion in this area that people try to bind the power of Satan and his demoniac entities that are effecting the nations. This will and can never be done because the individual believer does not have the authority nor the jurisdiction to stop their attacks and effects on mankind in their nations. God gave Satan the jurisdiction and permission to be the prince of this earth along with his demons operating accordingly and man cannot go against the boundaries already established by God.

The purpose of God, through His church, is to reveal His glory over all the earth. (Psalm 72:19) In Genesis 1:26-28, Matthew 28:19-20, Luke 19:13 and Matthew 5:13, God tells Christians to take dominion, subdue, be salt, occupy and make disciples of the inhabitants of the earth. Adam failed to subdue and cast Satan out of the garden and Eve was deceived. The Bible tells Christians that we are God’s ambassadors. It clearly explains and defines our responsibilities and authority. If we do not convert and make disciples of evil men or put the righteous in power in our nations, then the righteous are persecuted. Christians have authority to represent Christ, heal the sick and cast out demons etc., but we need to be in a righteous relationship with Jesus filled with the Holy Ghost. (Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15-20, Luke 24:46-53 and Acts 1:1-8)

Yes, we are supposed to resist Satan’s temptations and attacks and he will flee from us if we are in a right relationship with God and not living in sin. The spirit filled believer can cast out demons from those affected if they will keep the door and windows shut so they are not repossessed with stronger/worse demons. The person usually needs to desire the exorcism/deliverance and determine they will now live with Jesus as Lord and Savior without engaging in sin. Consequently, they are now to keep the doors closed so the demons cannot come back with reinforcements to torment the person even worse. Luke 11:24-26; Matthew 12:45

Men can resist and rule over evil men and have limited authority over demons that the Lord has established. Angels can conquer and defeat demons in their regions and territories upon the Lord’s direction. God fights Satan at the Battle of Armageddon and will cast him into the bottomless pit (Revelation 20:3) and after 1,000 years, God will cast Satan and his demons into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:10) when the time arrives that He has already established and not before. Let’s explore a few examples.

From 2014-2019, I have spoken at the World Holy Spirit Ministry International Conference in South Korea. The church in South Korea is known for prayer. Prayer Mountain is famous worldwide. I believe in prayer. It is absolutely essential for our relationship with God and our daily victories. But most Christians take prayer out of context and pray that God will do their job on earth to save the nations. As I explained above, Jesus already gave man that commission when He ascended to heaven. Jesus commanded the disciples to rule, reign, occupy, take dominion and bring peace and prosperity to nations. They were to tarry first in order to be filled with the baptism of the Holy Spirit so His power and authority, which they possess, would accomplish this assignment. When the righteous rule, the people prosper but when the evil rule, the innocent are abused and persecuted. Another mistake some Christians make is they try and bind Satan and the principalities ruling the nations thinking that will bring peace and terminate problems in their nations. Jesus did not give that jurisdiction and authority to men on earth. Consequently, these type of prayers are useless and a waste of time. Time that should be used to focus on their responsibilities given by God to preserve and save their nation by being His ambassadors.

My messages each year in South Korea were very strong on doing their role in the preservation of South Korea and not on wasted time focused on praying and binding in error. I warned them unless they understood and spent their time in prayer, preaching and teaching correctly they would come under tyranny and become slaves in their own nation. That is exactly what is happening today. In 2020, a planned pandemic was unleashed on the world and sinister, evil forces are using this supposed pandemic as an excuse to take control over the people, especially Christians in South Korea.

Another example was in Kenya, East Africa on February 24, 1996, where many national leaders in the clergy did not understand the proper usage of prayer. They did not understand the scriptures properly and instead of preaching on sin calling for repentance in Uhuru Park, a venue that holds 200,000 people and also had television coverage allowing millions of people to watch, they spent the day binding and loosing the demonic entities ruling Kenya, which they neither have the jurisdiction or authority to do. Obviously they accomplished nothing but a waste of valuable time that could have been used for calling for repentance and urging the people in attendance to pray for themselves, in order to resist Satan and his demons personally so they can now truly spend their time making disciples and rebuking sin in Kenya. They thought they were defeating the consequences of sin that was destroying Kenya, but the simplicity of the Scriptures is men gave these demonic powers authority by their continual sin and only national repentance will cause the demons to lose their power and authority in Kenya or any nation. Once again, these Christian leaders misunderstood the limits of their authority and jurisdiction in prayer.

Read the testimony below of the occurrence and what I said and did:

CHURCH LEADERS AND BELIEVERS IN KENYA:

Today in Kenya everyone knows in their heart this nation is in trouble. Everyone knows something must be done to stop the lying, cheating, stealing, drunkenness, hatred, violence and murder that is tearing this country apart.

Pastors and Priests know in their heart that this country cannot continue, with its people filled with sin, without coming under the judgment of Almighty God. It is time today to quit the hypocrisy in the Church, the Christian community, the Religious community, the Political community and repent before God through Jesus Christ who God manifested Himself through on earth, and who will judge everyone of us for our eternal destiny.

Because of the seriousness of the time we live in, if there is not a true repentance from our heart and a change of heart resulting in a change in society; if people who do not turn to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, we all know that the fruits of our unrighteousness and rebellion against the only God, Jesus Christ our Lord, will result in terrible consequences for all of us.

Pastors and Priests are making a symbolic gesture of unity and repentance but unless they themselves repent of their own sins with a determination not to follow their selfishness but from now on to deny themselves and follow the will of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, then none of these outward actions will accomplish anything. It will be another hypocritical performance bringing on the wrath of a Holy God which despises lies and deception.

You are witnessing in Kenya today many prayers against the Spiritual powers of darkness and the evil spirits that some have made pledges to. Leaders here today are trying to break the powers of the evil one that influences people. If the ones praying are Holy and in a right relationship with Jesus Christ, not a rebel who knowingly disobeys the teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, then the prayers offered to God through the lips of a true Christian, not a religious hypocrite in the garments of Christianity, will have power to resist principalities and powers of darkness. This person will have power with the Lord to do battle, pray in the Spirit and fight the evil spirits that are attacking this nation.

Prayers alone against these evil spirits will not stop their influence. People here symbolically representing another tribe and repenting of the sins they have committed against each other will not stop the judgments of a Holy God. Yes, leaders here today are trying to make a spiritual declaration of repentance, but the only victory resulting in the blessings of God being poured out upon this nation, is if the people themselves truly repent and turn to Jesus Christ. This repentance, if sincere, will result in real faith which is not just a desire to follow God, but a wish to follow God with determination to quit rebelling against the teachings of Christ and intentionally sinning and be truly born again. Realizing that you are wrong is not repentance; being sorry alone for disobeying God is not repentance; desiring to follow Christ is not Christianity; going to church is not serving God. Hell will be full of demons, people and church leaders who went to church, felt guilty over their sins, desired to follow Jesus Christ and quit sinning but yet had a stronger desire to continue to be a rebel and keep lying, cheating, stealing and committing adultery and fornication. Regretting that one is a sinner is not repentance! True repentance involves true faith. Not faith in yourself, your church or your nation but faith in Jesus Christ and in the teachings of Christ, which results in a change of heart and fruits of righteousness.

When a person truly repents and truly has faith then that person has truly accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into their heart. Righteousness is doing the will of God wherein selfishness is unrighteousness in disobeying God and doing our own desires and will. When we truly have repented, we have made a determined decision with our mind to change from our selfishness and follow righteousness; God’s ways and will. True repentance always involves a hatred of sin and a change of desires. It involves a love of God and forsaking of sin. Yes, the devil will still tempt us with our old selfish desires but now our mind has been changed toward obeying God and hating sin; our heart now has the Holy Spirit living within.

This results in a change of desires. We no longer desire to lie, cheat, steal or commit adultery. We no longer desire to hurt one another. We no longer want our way over God’s. We are truly repentant and have been born again.

The life of faith in Jesus Christ is not a once forever decision. It is a daily decision. We are tempted daily by the devil to disobey God as was Jesus. We can daily live by faith and determine to follow God’s will, not our own.

The Bible warns when Christians in a nation fail to be the salt to preserve it, the country comes under the Judgment of God to do the work that the church should have done. That is to get the attention of the lost toward the reality of Jesus Christ and prepare the believers to meet Him. The church in Kenya has failed to do this. Most pastors and Christian businessmen have failed to do this. Instead of preaching an uncompromising truth of Jesus Christ and what it means to follow Him, they have twisted the message for personal fulfillment.

As false leaders were proclaiming a message of false hope during Jeremiah’s time, so are leaders proclaiming a false hope today. They are preaching a message out of the greed of their own hearts. This same type of person will run and escape when things get too tough, whether they be a foreigner or citizen of Kenya. Whether they be an American, Canadian, New Zealand, local born citizen or resident, when persecution comes or threatens; they begin to make their plans for escape as some have already done. It is one thing if God tells us to go, it is another thing if we leave when God is wanting us to stay with the flock. Only a person preaching and living the truth of the Word can hear and obey the Lord.

If God is going to forgive our nation and stop the problems we are facing all around us, there must be true repentance. Pastors and Priests must repent of their personal sins. Their churches and denominations are not their first priority, it must be Jesus Christ. Some people are so proud to say I am a Protestant, a Catholic or a Pentecostal. They should instead say, I am a Christian. Many of our churches and denominations have mixed within them the teaching and philosophies of men and demons instead of the true teaching of Jesus Christ.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, church leaders and politicians, the only hope for this nation is Jesus Christ. WE MUST REPENT OF OUR HYPOCRISY and become true followers of Jesus Christ. We must submit our lives, our will, our actions, choices and desires over to the Lord. We must truly be born again, living not for ourselves but for the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords and the President of all Presidents, His Excellency Jesus Christ.

If there is not a Revival, a genuine repentance of sin, then the prophecy concerning Kenya will all come to pass. A spirit of rebellion followed by violence will continue. A spirit of drought followed by famine will continue. A spirit of Islam followed by riots. There will be fighting, even family against family. You will be persecuted by another religious group. The nation will lose its religious freedom and the nation will not fully recover until Jesus returns.

Read Jeremiah 14:11-16, Ezekiel 13:1-10; 14:13-20; 22:1-31, Nahum 3:19 and Jeremiah 30:12-15

Some people like to quote Daniel that he stood in the gap, which is true. So did Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, John the Baptist, Noah and many others but the judgments fell anyway. The population was destroyed in Noah’s time but Noah and his family were saved by obeying God. The nation of Israel was taken into slavery. Daniel himself went into slavery being taken to Babylon. Even though they all stood in the gap unless the people themselves repented, as the people of Nineveh did, the nation fell. God honored Daniel and he became a leader in Babylon but Israel was in slavery. Standing in the gap means more than praying. These men did more than just pray. They sounded the alarm. They warned the people in the nation they must repent or suffer the consequences of their continued disobedience. They prayed, fasted, preached and the Holy Spirit convicted but if the people of the nation did not themselves repent, judgment fell anyway. Moses stood in the gap but the people died in the wilderness, never receiving the promises of God because of their continued sins.

People, we must continue to stand in the gap, pray, fast, and warn people to repent and if they ignore us, judgment will fall but God will honor the believers who are righteous. God be with you.

Matthew 16:13-20 ~ Peter Declares That Jesus Is the Messiah

13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”
14 So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.
18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
20 Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ.

Matthew 18:15-22 ~ Dealing With Sin in the Church
15 “Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother.
16 But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’
17 And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.
18 “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
19 “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.
20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant

21 Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”
22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.

Isaiah 58:5-6
5 Is it a fast that I have chosen, a day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head like a bulrush, and to spread out sackcloth and ashes? Would you call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the Lord?
6 “Is this not the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?

“Binding and loosing is originally a Jewish Mishnaic phrase also mentioned in the New Testament, as well as in the Targum. In usage, to bind and to loose simply means to forbid by an indisputable authority and to permit by an indisputable authority. One example of this is Isaiah 58:5–6 which relates proper fasting to loosing the chains of injustice.

Binding and loosing is putting the armor of God on, according to this principle, as the “struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Therefore, regularly Christians put on the armor of Christ to stand against these principalities. “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” This meaning, putting on the armor refers to using the Bible, the word of God, as a weapon to the everyday battle. In doing so, in Christianity when things are bound and loosened a common prayer starts like this: “Jesus, right now I bind the spirit of blasphemy. In the name of Jesus of Nazareth I bind it to leave me in your name.”

The poseks had, by virtue of their ordination, the power of deciding disputes relating to Jewish law. Hence, the difference between the two main schools of thought in early classical Judaism were summed up by the phrase the school of Shammai binds; the school of Hillel looses. Theoretically, however, the authority of the poseks proceeded from the Sanhedrin, and there is therefore a Talmudic statement that there were three decisions made by the lower house of judgment (the Sanhedrin) to which the upper house of judgment (the heavenly one) gave its supreme sanction. The claim that whatsoever [a disciple] bind[s] or loose[s] on earth shall be bound or loosed in heaven, which the Gospel of Matthew attributes to Jesus, and is still used commonly today in prayer, an effective method on account to Christianity.
