On Friday, November 8, 1996 I was asked to pray for the Peace of Zaire over the Radio for Eastern Africa:
I had flown into Nairobi, Kenya (East Africa) and Pastor Dennis White asked me to join him and two other church leaders to pray for Zaire's peace. The country was in turmoil and many people wanted peace.

I was the fourth person to pray, but when I opened my mouth instead of praying for peace in Zaire, I prophesied the following:

"UNLESS THE NATION REPENTS FROM THE PRESIDENT DOWN TO THE BEGGAR, THE PRESIDENT WILL BE CHASED FROM OFFICE, THE GOVERNMENT WILL FALL AND THE NATION WILL COLLAPSE."

In May 1997, President Mobutu of Zaire fled his nation and the rebel Kabila took over as President of Zaire. He had led a rebellion and the government fell!The name of the country was changed from Zaire to the Democratic Republic of Congo.

NOTE: We cannot pray for God's blessing and peace upon a person, marriage, business or nation when they are in open violation of God's word. First, repentance must come (a change of behavior and heart). When one repents and changes from their pride (selfishness) to righteousness (God's will), then peace can come and prayers can be answered.

1. Selfishness is the cause of rebellion in the world today. People blame God for the problems in the world, but the real cause for the world's problems is not God, but the men who are leading the world when they are in rebellion against the Scriptures. This is the reason why eternal judgment has to come. If God does not eternally judge the nations (peoples of the world) rebellion and selfishness would continue. People who will not come under the authority of God will continue to rape their fellow human being. For this reason there are ghettos, slums and street children. For this reason there is murder, rape, robbery, lying, cheating and stealing. People who refuse to come under the authority of God and the Scriptures are responsible for the sad, sick, polluted and violent world in which the innocent live. God must eternally judge the nations, or after he returns to earth at the end of Armageddon, the world would once again return to this godless condition.

2. Faith is simply a matter of obeying the Scriptures whereas rebellion is simply a matter of deliberately defying the Scriptures. The knowledge of God is not faith. Knowing God's reality is not faith. Neither the knowledge of God, nor understanding and recognizing the reality of God is salvation unto eternal life. Lucifer had a measure of faith. At one time he lived in heaven. He had knowledge and knew the reality of God yet he openly defied the Word (Jesus).
