Dear SOC,
There are seasons when intercessors labour in prayer and sense that something is being confronted, weakened, or brought into alignment. Yet because no immediate manifestation appears, they conclude that their prayers have accomplished nothing.
Elijah prayed for rain after a prolonged drought. He sent his servant repeatedly to look toward the sea. The servant returned again and again with the same report:
“There is nothing.” 1 Kings 18:43
“There is nothing” is one of the most difficult reports an intercessor can receive. You prayed, but there is nothing. You fasted, but there is nothing. You declared the Word, but the circumstances look unchanged.
Yet Elijah did not allow the absence of visible evidence to become the end of his intercession. He told the servant to return seven times. Eventually, the servant saw a cloud as small as a man’s hand. What appeared small was evidence that the atmosphere was changing.
How many times have we left the place of prayer after the sixth time because we saw nothing, when persistence was required of us?
This does not mean that we can earn an answer through repetition, manipulate God, or guarantee that every situation will end exactly as we desire. Persistence is not an attempt to overpower God’s will. It is the refusal to abandon the place of faith while waiting for His will to be revealed and fulfilled.
We have returned from South Africa and Malawi with hearts full of gratitude for all the Lord has done. His power was evident throughout the meetings, and the deliverances were more than we could count. Though the spiritual warfare was intense, God’s infinite grace sustained us and brought us through in victory.
Thank you for covering us in prayer and standing with us throughout this journey. We bless the name of the Lord and give Him all the glory.
Blessings,
Adalia Hansen
Dear Fellow Prayer Warrior:
- Thank you for your prayers but this last trip showed me we don’t have enough prayer. Demons manifested in every service and even in our bedroom at night several times. My wife even had a snake in her suitcase. Please pray more fervently and help us recruit more prayer intercessors.
- Great victories were accomplished in both South Africa and Malawi and newsletters will be coming out, testifying of these triumphs.
- We thank you for your prayers in mission finances that came in finally allowing us to travel and have these great victories, including helping orphans and widows in Malawi.
- The ministry needs additional monthly partners including DVD and CD partners to help pay our monthly bills to operate the ministry.
- I will be leading a team leaving on Oct 23rd to South Korea to speak at the World Holy Spirit Conference. Please pray for that trip, including strength for my wife and son as we just returned from an exhausting six week trip to South Africa and Malawi. We were in public meetings ever day but two. My son got sick at the end including vomiting on the last plane before arriving in Seattle.
Thank you and Blessings again,
Jonathan Hansen
