Intercessors are called to stand in the gap, contend in prayer and declare the purposes of God. Yet the weapon entrusted to us, the sword of the Spirit, is not merely Scripture quoted aloud. It is the living, active Word of God received, obeyed and wielded under the direction of the Holy Spirit.

A sword is not an ornament. It is designed to cut, separate and penetrate. Likewise, the Word was never given merely to decorate our prayers with impressive language. It was given to expose darkness, confront deception, divide truth from error and bring the whole person under the authority of God.

Before the sword can be effective through the intercessor, it must first be effective in the intercessor.

Hebrews 4:12

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword… and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (NKJV)

The Word does not examine only the people and situations for which we pray. It examines us. It pierces beneath our public prayers and discerns the private motives of the heart.

It is possible to quote Scripture over nations while refusing its correction in our personal lives. We can speak about holiness while protecting compromise, pray against rebellion while resisting authority and confront strongholds in others while excusing bitterness within ourselves.

An intercessor must never become so skilled at directing the Word outward that the Word is no longer permitted to point inward. The question is not merely, “Do I know the Word?” The deeper question is, “Is the Word still piercing, correcting and shaping me today?”

We still have many trips to go. We covet your prayers and ask that you continually present us before God. We recently went to Spokane, WA and had a tremendous time of ministry. We are extremely grateful for your sacrifice.

Many blessings, Adalia Hansen

Dear Prayer Partners:

1. We fly to South Africa on August 31, 2026 and desperately need $1,992 just to pay the balance of our tickets alone and another $3,000 for expenses while in South Africa.

2. We fly from South Africa to Malawi on September 21, 2026 to September 29, 2026 when we fly back to South Africa to minister until October 7, 2026 when we fly back to Seattle, WA. In order to make the budget for the Malawi trip, we need an additional $6,359.

3. The last week of October, we are flying to South Korea for the World Holy Spirit Conference and need $4,902 to make the budget.

Intercessors, please pray as we leave for South Africa on August 31, 2026 and as I mentioned earlier, we need another $1,992 to finish paying for our airline tickets to go.

The news reports that South Africa is dangerous with a lot of fighting, but we are willing to go but we need your help in sending us. Please give something today and pray daily for our safety.

Blessings, Jonathan Hansen
