We should understand that the heart is an important inner factor that plays a role in receiving the divine gifts. This is the greatest determinant of the power and glory of God in your life. God searches the heart. There is no use hiding our sins, our temptations, our rationalizations, our envy, jealousy, and bitterness. God knows it all.

As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever’ (1 Chronicles 28: 9).

Do you present to God prayers that come from your heart? Not a form of prayer, but does your heart really go with the prayer you offer? People always say, "I always say my prayers."

There is as great a difference between saying prayers and really praying. Saying prayers is not praying. Why, you might as well say your prayers backwards as well as forward unless your heart goes with them!

"...He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that he is a Rewarder of them that diligently seek him." Hebrews 11:6

Where there is that true faith in God, there is fervent prayer in the heart. How can a man pray if he does not believe in God? Until you do believe in God, you cannot pray effectively. It would be useless, I recollect that Christ has said, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

"...Thy servant hath found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee." 2 Samuel 7:27

How many men seem to begin to pray without really thinking about prayer? They rush, without preparation or thought, into this presence of God. I believe no loyal subject would seek an audience with their King to present a petition, without having first carefully prepared it. They appear to imagine that they just have to say certain words, and to stand or kneel in a certain attitude, and that is prayer.

David found his prayer in his heart. He and his heart were well acquainted if I must say. He had long been accustomed to talk with himself. There are some men, who know a thousand other people, but who do not know their own hearts. They have never talked with it, never examined it or even questioned it. They just follow its evil desires. David, when he wanted to pray, went and looked in his heart to see what he could find there, and he found in his heart to pray this prayer to God.

I remember often feeling as if I could not pray; I could get into a condition in which I am not able to pray. That is a very sad state for any child of God to be in. I examined my heart and found deep hurt that made it difficult for me to express myself to God. I went before the Lord in tears and asked Him to quicken my heart and I will call upon His Name. I do personally desire to ever possess the true spirit of prayer.

Therefore, to pray, we must enter our hearts, close the door of whatever distracts us in the external world and there we pray to God in such a way that God receives our prayer.

Dear Fellow Prayer Warrior

Great article by Pastor Adalia Hansen! What we need is serious intercession.

We just returned from Bogota, Colombia, South America where we had a tremendous four day conference for 150 churches and their pastors. I also met with the Israeli Ambassador to Bogota, Colombia where I was able to give advice and prayer.

1. Pray for the fruit of that conference in Bogota. The New World Order is trying to topple the sovereignty of every nation. Everything I prophesied and warned about in Colombia five years ago has come to pass, including a communist President. If the church doesn't rise up in Bogota and in every nation, tyranny will sweep the nation and Christian freedoms will evaporate.

2. Pray for people in America and every nation to join Eagles Saving Nations at worldministries.org

3. Pray for more funds to come in for the Israel trip. I need much more support to make the trip and help the people devastated by the war.

4. Finally, pray for our finances. We need so much more in order to pay our bills and continue to sound the alarm.

Blessings, Dr. Jonathan Hansen
